Raku pieces are glazed and then fired in a specialized outdoor kiln, reaching up to 2000 degree's fahrenheit. The pieces are then cooled rapidly in an air tight chamber bringing them back to room temperature within two hours. The effects are unpredictable, but spectacular.s

Cast pieces are molded from original designs created by Mike Quinn. The molds are hand poured with a gypsum cement, then sanded and scraped by hand. Upon passing inspection, each piece is airbrushed and detailed by hand. Each piece is inspected at least three times during the 32 step process. We at Clay Planet Designs hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoy making them.
